Summer is here, and with it comes the promise of an incentive trip.
You may be wondering, “How do I earn an incentive trip?”, “What companies offer incentive trips?”, and “Is the work worth the effort to earn an incentive trip?”.
With my company, I’ve had the opportunity to earn four out of four incentive trips! They just released the details for our fifth pawTrip and I am already counting down the days until I go!
The first trip I earned was a nail-biter to the last moments. I wasn’t sure if I’d earn it until the last few weeks of the six-month campaign (we had six months to earn it!). It was nerve-wracking, to say the least. And I haven’t missed an opportunity to earn an incentive trip since.
3 reasons it’s worth the effort
Here are the top three reasons you’ll want to make every effort to earn an incentive trip if your company offers them (or find a company that does!):
1. The Experiences
I’ve been to the Caribbean, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo🌴, and an Alaskan cruise. Believe it or not, these are places I never would’ve experienced had it not been for pawTree. It’s through these trips that I’ve had the experience of being wined, dined, and treated like someone really special. Looking back on my first trip, I even remember someone was waiting for me at baggage claim with my name on a sign. How cool is that?!
I’ve also had fun excursions, camel rides on the beach, zip lining through the jungle, eating fresh mango on the beach, beach massages, endless piña coladas, spa treatments, and the list goes on and on. The work was worth it to have such fun and memorable experiences.
2. The Community
The ability to bond with my colleagues and meet others that are doing the same thing I’m doing from across the country is priceless.
We don’t work together in the same place, so this was a chance for us all to be together, hang out, and get to know each other better in a non-work-related way. I’ve witnessed how great memories and friendships are built through incentive trips!
3. A Sense of Accomplishment
There’s something special about working hard for something and making it happen. It gives me a sense of pride and makes me realize that I can do hard things with the right effort and a supportive team. Seeing other team members do the same is just as rewarding. It taught me to dig deep, stretch my comfort zone, and strategize with others to make it happen. Being able to go, all expenses paid (airfare, hotel, transportation, and I was able to bring a guest!), was an incredible feeling of accomplishment.
