Why should you hire a coach?

When is the right time to hire a coach? And why should you hire a coach?

Are you feeling stuck? Who are you accountable to now other than yourself? Do you feel all over the place, lacking direction or focus? Or maybe you have direction and focus and yet still feel the pressure, the overwhelm, and the burning of the oil at both ends.

I have been to all of those places. Back then, I resisted hiring a coach. I wasn’t ready to invest in myself and didn’t understand what a coach really did until I hired one.

It took me a while to realize that hiring a coach was the best way to get some insight into what I needed to do to grow my business.

In what ways can a Good Coach help?

Here are just a few of the things a GOOD coach can help you with (and what a coach has helped me with!).

First of all, a good coach will ask you questions. They would want to learn more about what excites you and what you hope to achieve in the future. They’ll continue asking questions so that together you can…

1. Get crystal clear on your goals

If you’re not sure of your goals yet, a good coach can help you get more clarity on the next steps. Whether it’s figuring out how to grow your business or where to start with your personal goals, a coach can help you discover the next steps in your life.

2. Help you focus on the right tasks and activities that bring about the results you want

Often we feel overwhelmed, I get it. A coach can help you clearly define the next best step to keep you progressing in the goals you outlined in the beginning.

3. Keep yourself accountable

It’s hard to stay on track with a new habit or goal. You might start out strong, but then you get busy, distracted, or just lose your motivation.

But if you and your coach are meeting weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, it gives you space to stay accountable for what you say you’re going to do.

4. Broaden your perspective

A coach has either been where you are or knows someone who has and who has come out on top and even gone beyond. They can help you see past where you are right then and there.

5. Provide some constructive feedback

You might think you’ve got it all figured out. But are you open to feedback? A coach will provide you with some from an outside perspective.

Do you homework

There are a lot of “coaches” out there. Just because they have the title “coach”, doesn’t mean they are qualified.

This is why before you sign a contract and before you pay any money, have some conversations. Understand what they are giving you and what’s expected in return. Aside from that, you should talk to a previous client of theirs. Lastly, ask them for some qualifications.

It’s a great first move and you want to make sure you’re aligned with the right coach.
