What’s your favorite self development book?

Who knew that self-development was a thing? I didn’t.

Perhaps you already knew what it was and made a habit of spending time working on yourself. But for me, it wasn’t until I joined a network marketing company that I began the journey and learned that mindset will trump skillsets every single time.

Moreover, I’ve learned that to improve your mindset, you must constantly be feeding your mind with content that supports, lifts, and shapes you into a better version of yourself.

My first self-development book

“Rock Your Network Marketing Business: How to Become a Network Marketing ROCK STAR” by Sarah Robbins.

Now I first have to back up and relay that I did not enjoy reading as a child, as a teenager, or as an adult. It didn’t come naturally for me to just pick up a book and read, to begin with. So how this first book landed in my lap, I truly don’t remember. I think I heard a podcast or interview with her and ordered the book. And I’m so grateful I did.

I was new to the business and the industry and lacked belief in myself. Roadblocks were coming up all over the place. Rejection is tough! And I felt like I was dealing with it nearly every day.

Eventually, there came a time when I wasn’t sure if my shy, introverted self could handle much more.

Reading this book made me feel I am not alone.

Sarah shared some of her struggles and failures, and how she felt when no one came to her events. In particular, her story of perseverance and willingness to keep going inspired me. I immediately applied some of the principles from her book and I continued to take action.

All in all, I’m so grateful that it was the first book I read because it offered everything a new seller needs to know. In fact, the book was a good length for someone who is a non-reader like me. It’s 105 pages-short, sweet, and to the point!

What are your favorite self-development books?

If you’re a self-development junkie, when did you start? Why did you start? What was the first book you read that changed your life?

I still am not an avid reader but can count a few dozen I’ve read over the years. My top favorites are The Success Principles by Jack Canfield, Soundtracks by Jon Acuff, Atomic Habits by James Clear, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz (life-changing!), and “The Big Leap” by Guy Hendricks.
